In this article, you will learn about the recent change from Google Ads to reinforce its security. This is called two-factor authentication.

This consists of you accessing your account in two steps.

  1. Add your password.

  2. Being asked for something else, a code will be sent to your phone via text, voice call, or Google Ads mobile app. Or, if you have a Security Key, you can insert it into your computer’s USB port.

When having this new option available in your account, you might step to this message in your widgets or when adding a new data source.

Unfortunately, we cannot retrieve data when having this two-factor authentication option available, and we do not get the information of which account is causing this. So, there are two options you can, discover which connection under your account has enabled the 2-factor authentication and remove it or enable this security for the whole account.
