How to manage linked reports

Learn how to link or unlink reports from a master template

Updated over a month ago

A Linked report is useful if you want to update multiple reports simultaneously whenever you change the template. For example, if you update the template to include a new engagement metric, all linked reports will automatically update with this change. This saves you time, especially if you manage multiple clients with similar reporting needs.

Templates are great for quickly generating reports or maintaining consistency across multiple clients.

Linked vs Unlinked Reports

Understanding the differences is key for your report-making:

  • If the report isn’t linked to a template, you can customize it fully—add widgets, remove sections, and adjust the layout to your liking.

  • If the report is linked to a template, you won’t be able to add or remove widgets or change settings directly in the report, but you can still adjust filters to tailor the data view.

How to Link a Report to a Template

When setting up your report, you’ll decide whether to link it to the template or keep it independent.

💡 Remember, any changes you make to the template will be reflected in all linked reports.

How to unlink a report from a template

👉 Be aware that if you unlink a report from the template, it stays independent and cannot be relinked later.
