Start measuring your Snapchat campaigns and determine how well each branded or brand-sponsored Snap or Story performs with Swydo. In this article, you will learn how to determine your Snapchat campaign success.

The following 5 metrics can help you analyze and optimize your campaign for future success.

1. Unique impressions

These impressions show you how many users saw your ad for the first time. If they go back to your ad, it will still count is as one impression. This metric is only requestable for the last 32 days.

To add this metric in your report, please follow the next steps:

  • Click on the +-icon and select KPI

  • Select Snapchat as data source and follow the steps to add your account.

  • You will get the option to select from the 3 categories: Ad squad, Ad, and Campaign statistics. In this case, select Custom Campaign statistic widget.

  • Go to the metric tab and select Unique impression from the list.

  • Go to the date range tab and made sure you select a date range that contains 32 days.

  • Click on Save Settings.

BONUS You can also add the KPI Impressions. This will show the total impressions that you got on your ads. Follow the steps as described above, and instead of selecting unique impressions, select Impressions.

2. Swipes

This metric counts the total number of times a Snapchatter has swiped up on attachments within your Story Ad.

Follow the next steps to add this metric in your report:

  • Click on the +-icon and select KPI

  • Select Snapchat as data source and follow the steps to add your account.

  • You will get the option to select from the 3 categories: Ad squad, Ad, and Campaign statistics. In this case, select Custom Campaign statistic widget.

  • Go to the metric tab and select Swipes from the list.

  • Click on Save Settings.

3. Amount Spent

This metric shows the amount spent on an ad. To add this metric in your report, please follow the next steps:

  • Click on the +-icon and select KPI

  • Select Snapchat as data source and follow the steps to add your account.

  • You will get the option to select from the 3 categories: Ad squad, Ad, and Campaign statistics. In this case, select Custom Campaign statistic widget.

  • Go to the metric tab and select Amount Spent from the list.

  • Click on Save Settings.

4. Conversions

The type of conversion can differ due to the goal you have selected. Check out the list which available metrics you can add. In this example, we will use the metric Purchases.

  • Click on the +-icon and select KPI

  • Select Snapchat as data source and follow the steps to add your account.

  • You will get the option to select from the 3 categories: Ad squad, Ad, and Campaign statistics. In this case, select Custom Campaign statistic widget.

  • Go to the metric tab and select Purchases from the list.

  • Click on Save Settings.

5. Conversion value

Adding the conversion value to your report, can show you the value of your campaign. At this moment, the only conversion value that you can add is the Purchase value. Follow the next steps to add the Purchase value to your report:

  • Click on the +-icon and select KPI

  • Select Snapchat as data source and follow the steps to add your account.

  • You will get the option to select from the 3 categories: Ad squad, Ad, and Campaign statistics. In this case, select Custom Campaign statistic widget.

  • Go to the metric tab and select Purchase value from the list.

  • Click on Save Settings.
