When using an MCP to connect an AI assistant to Swydo, the biggest opportunity is to turn the AI into an intelligent reporting assistant that can access client data, analyse performance, identify opportunities, and eventually take action.
How it works
Connecting your AI assistant to Swydo is simple:
1. Connect your AI tool to Swydo
Add Swydo as a custom MCP connector in your AI assistant's settings using the following server URL:
https://ai.swydo.com/mcp
2. Authorise access
Sign in with your Swydo account and approve the connection. No API key or additional configuration is required.
3. Start exploring your data
Ask your AI assistant questions about your reporting data. It can discover available data sources, metrics, dimensions and filters, then retrieve the relevant information to answer your questions.
Key benefits
Access based on your Swydo permissions: The MCP respects the roles and permissions configured in your Swydo account. You can only access data you're authorised to view.
Cross-client analysis: Explore data for an individual client or analyse multiple clients in a single workflow.
Flexible data retrieval: Access available metrics, dimensions and filters directly from your connected data sources, rather than being limited to the metrics displayed in existing report widgets.
Read-only access: The MCP currently allows you to retrieve and analyse data. It cannot create, edit, or delete anything in your Swydo account.

FAQs
Which AI tools work with the SWydo MCP?
Any AI tool that supports custom MCP connectors, including Claude and ChatGPT. Add the server URL https://ai.swydo.com/mcp as a custom connector and sign in with your Swydo account.
Do I need a paid AI plan?
It depends on the AI tool. Claude lets you add a custom connector on all plans, including Free. ChatGPT requires a paid plan with Developer Mode turned on. Check your AI tool’s plan details for the latest availability.
Can the AI change my reports?
No. The Swydo MCP is read-only for now. Your AI can retrieve and analyze data, but it can’t create, edit or delete anything in Swydo.
Which data can the AI see?
Only the data your Swydo role and permissions allow. Contributors, for example, can only access the clients they already have access to in Swydo.
Does it use Swydo AI credits?
No. Questions run on your own AI tool and use that tool’s credits.
How is my data handled?
Swydo data is shared only with the AI tool you connect, and only when you ask a question. How that tool stores or processes data depends on its own privacy settings.
Privacy and security
Your privacy and data security are important to us.
The Swydo MCP connector uses your existing Swydo account permissions to determine which data can be accessed. It does not provide access beyond the permissions assigned to your user account.
For more information about how your data is handled when using the Swydo MCP connector, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
