How to combine Data Sources in widgets or KPIs

How can I combine (blend) sources from multiple platforms into a single widget?

Updated over a week ago

Using the Combined Data Sources feature (now in BETA), you can now evaluate the success of your ad campaigns with aggregated data from multiple platforms. This feature is great if you want to display costs from the ad spend platforms in the same table or KPI, or just monitor metrics like clicks and conversions.

What can you do with the Combined Data Sources feature?

  • Combine data (blend) from multiple ad platforms into a single KPI, Table, Donut Chart, Pie Chart, Column Chart, Stacked Column Chart, Stacked Bar Chart, and Treemap for an easy-to-read performance overview.

  • Track budget pacing by setting up trackers to monitor how ad spending is distributed across channels.

  • Generate high-level reports to evaluate the success of your campaigns with aggregated metrics.

How to create a Combined widget?

Step 1: Insert the widget

Insert a new widget or KPI as you would normally do with the "plus" sign.

Step 2: Select the data sources

You will find a little "+" button below the data source list. Click it to select up to five sources of your choice.

πŸ’‘ The platforms you can choose from are Google Ads, Facebook Ads, Microsoft Ads, Instagram Ads, TikTok Ads, Pinterest Ads, and Snapchat Ads.

Step 3: Select the Metrics

The metrics available will depend on the combination of platforms you choose, but these are the metrics available:

Cost, Clicks, Impressions, Conversions, CPC, CTR, CPM, and Cost / Conv.

You can also choose from the preset widgets and KPIs.

Step 4: Adjust the widget's settings

After selecting the metric, you can adjust the presentation from a KPI, Table or Chart and select multiple metrics.

This is an example of how the widget can look like:

❗️To consider:

  • The metric availability will depend on the platforms you select (for example, Google Ads will show Conversions, but if paired with Facebook, it will not).

  • You can add sources from the same platform or different platforms

  • Combined sources only work on reports and boards, not on the Monitoring page.

  • The date range and currency of the widget will be based on the first source you've chosen. For example, if the first source selected is in US Dollars but the rest of the sources are in British pounds, the totals will be displayed in US dollars.

  • Custom metrics are not available within this feature
