How to Reauthorize a Connection or Fix a Broken Data Source

Learn where to find alerts and how to restore your data connections.

Updated over a month ago

Keeping your integrations and data sources properly connected is essential for the smooth functioning of your reports, schedules, and dashboards. The good news is that we regularly check your data sources and send you an alert when an issue is spotted.

Where to Find Alerts:

βš™οΈ In the App: Check for a red dot (πŸ”΄) in Settings, under Connections or Data Sources listed below Integrations.

βœ‰οΈ By Email: Whenever a connection is broken, we’ll send you an email notifying you of the issue and providing a link to resolve it.

Reauthorizing a Connection

A connection might lose its authentication for different reasons, such as password changes or updates to the integration's permission structure. For example, If Meta adds new permissions to its app, your Facebook account in Swydo might disconnect. Reauthorizing refreshes permissions for all associated data sources.

How to reauthorize:

  • Go to your Connections Page located under Integrations in Settings

  • Locate the affected integration with an "Error" status.

  • Click Reauthorize and follow the prompts to refresh permissions

  • Alternatively, click the three dots (⁝) next to the status column and select Reauthorize.

πŸ‘‰ You will be asked to add your credentials again, and for some platforms, Swydo will pull the data from your browser and connect the account automatically.

Fixing a Broken Data Source

  • Go to your Data Sources Page located under Integrations in Settings

  • A banner on the top of the page will indicate how many data sources are broken, if any.

  • Look for the "Error" status next to the affected data source.

  • Click "Fix" and follow the steps to resolve the issue.

🌟 Properly fixing disconnected data or integrations is essential to maintaining the efficiency of your automated reporting.
